Criccieth Winter Warmer
Criccieth is a beautiful seaside resort town on Cardigan Bay, on the Southern side of Llyn Peninsula. Overlooking the town on its headland stands the remains of the 13th century Criccieth Castle. Although the town has a small population there are still plenty of things to see and do within this quaint Welsh town, it has also managed to retain the historic language. Criccieth Castle was originally built in the early 13th century, but in 1404 the castle was completely sacked and never re occupied, leaving only what can be seen today. Just around the bay you will find secluded coves like Samson’s Bay and the summit of Moel y Gest with sparkling views out to sea. In the opposite direction towards Pwllheli, the coastal path has boardwalks through wetlands and wild dune-backed sands. Keep your eyes peeled as you walk as these shores are home to dolphins, porpoises and all manner of birdlife.

George IV Hotel
With magnificent views out towards the sea and the old medieval hilltop castle, this atmospheric hotel is situated on the High Street in the centre of town. There is a lift to all floors. Rooms are traditionally furnished and each one benefits from a TV, and en-suite bathroom and hairdryer. There is free Wi-Fi in public areas. Guests can relax in the bar or in the entertainment room, and the restaurant serves a range of traditional favourites.
