Beamish Living Museum

Beamish Living Museum

Join us as we visit Beamish the World famous open air museum!

View Dates & Book

Beamish is a living, working museum, set in over 350 acres of countryside. The costumed cast members will share their stories and take you back in time to bring back to life 1820s Pockerley Old Hall and Landscape, 1900s Town, 1900s Pit Village, 1940s Farm, 1950s Town.  You will find yourself fully immersed in this multi-award winning museum where you can try freshly-made bread in the Edwardian Bakery, take a seat in the salon to have your hair done 1950s style, visit the stables where the pit ponies live, or have your portrait taken in the Edwardian photographers' studio. You won't find objects displayed in glass cases at Beamish, you'll see them in their original context! If you don’t fancy walking, there are vintage trams and buses, including our Access Bus, to make travelling around the museum easier and even more exciting!

PLEASE NOTE: Day Excursions are non refundable. Children under 5 are not allowed to travel on the front row seats.

Please Note : If you wish to take a mobility scooter, wheelchair or rollator with you it must be requested at the time of booking. Any such equipment must fold flat for storage or be capable of being broken down into pieces of no more than 20kg. We cannot accept larger scooters (class 3) as these are too large and heavy to lift. We sometimes operate minibus feeders to minimise time, these vehicles CANNOT convey motorised wheelchairs/scooters.
