We visit Beamish for the Classic Car Show!
View Dates & BookExperience a real sense of the past at Beamish, and discover what life was like in North East England in the 1820s,1910s and 1940s! Beamish is a living, working museum, set in 300 acres of beautiful Durham countryside. Costumed folk bring to life the Town, Pit Village, Home Farm and Pockerley Old Hall!
Trams and period buses operate in a continuous loop around the museum site. These historic vehicles can store folded wheelchairs and folded pushchairs although space is limited. Please use the pathways rather than the roads and stay off the tram tracks when walking around the museum.
There are a range of catering facilities available across the museum. Enjoy takeaway food and drink from Davys fish and chip shop and Sinkers Bait Cabin in The 1900s Pit Village. Pick up delicious treats from Herrons Bakery and Jubilee Confectioners in The 1900s Town. Sit down and enjoy a break at the Entrance Coffee Shop, the Tea Rooms or The Sun Inn pub in The 1900s Town or visit Johns Café or Middletons fish and chip shop in The 1950s Town. There are also a number of extra catering outlets open each weekend and during local school holidays.
Sunday 19th April - Start your engines and get to Beamish to see Sunderland & District Classic Vehicle Societys fantastic display of cars on the museums Events Field.
