We bring you another chance to step on board the iconic Flying Scotsman, which is one of the most celebrated steam locomotives in history. Experience the sights and sounds of riding behind the World famous Flying Scotsman locomotive which is coming back to the Midlands for the first time in 25 years.
We first stop off at Nottingham City Centre where there is opportunity to have a walk around and have some lunch before we head off and you step aboard at Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre's Ruddington Fields Station for a return train journey of approx. 20 miles along the northern section of the Great Central Railway to Loughborough and back where you will travel through the countryside.
There is a gift tin available to purchase in advance at £20 and can be collected on arrival (contents include items from award-winning bakery Lottie Shaws - pk 4 yorkshire parkin ginger biscuits, pk 4 triple chocolate biscuits, multiple chocolate chip flapjacks, multiple traditional oat flapjacks, multiple millionaires shortbread ) Please inform our Travel office when booking if you would like a gift tin adding. Please Note: If you wish to take a mobility scooter, wheelchair or rollator with you it must be requested at the time of booking. Any such equipment must fold flat for storage or be capable of being broken down into pieces of no more than 20kg. We cannot accept larger scooters (class 3) as these are too large and heavy to lift. We sometimes operate minibus feeders to minimise time, these vehicles CANNOT convey motorised wheelchairs/scooters.
Step aboard at Grosmont Station for a 180 min return journey to Pickering Station and back travelling through the stunning North Yorkshire Moors National Park. Along the way, you'll experience the sights, sounds and atmosphere of one of the most iconic steam locomotives in the world.
