Cleethorpes is a beloved seaside resort which developed as a fishing village from the 6th century. It developed into a holiday resort in the 19th century, when sea bathing and the taking of medicinal waters became fashionable. The pier opened in 1873 and the promenade in 1885. It welcomes nearly a million visitors each year. And with three miles of golden sandy beaches, a wide promenade, and top tier facilities, it's no wonder Cleethorpes has received numerous awards.
Mablethorpe is a seaside town, situated between the popular resorts of Cleethorpes and Skegness, which gained its market town charter in 1253 and is one of Lincolnshire's popular coastal towns, with a magnificent Blue Flag Award Winning beach consisting of two miles of soft golden sand. This friendly town has something for all ages, it's no wonder that Mablethorpe is such a popular holiday destination for a family getaway. Family attractions include a small fairground and traditional arcades. The award-winning beach includes a sand train which runs trips along the beach.
