Durham is a popular tourist destination crowned by the magnificent Norman Castle and Romanesque Cathedral. With its huge mix of old and new featuring cobbled streets, tea rooms, real ale pubs alongside the more modern shops, museums and attractions. Durham is a city filled with history which people of all ages will love and enjoy. Why not visit the Durham Cathedral Museum, and see the only surviving 1216 Magna Carta, along with issues from 1225 and 1300, and three Forest Charters!

 

On one of the days we visit the Auckland Project, a unique collection of heritage attractions, galleries, gardens and parkland in Bishop Auckland, at the heart of County Durham!

Please Note - Mobility Aids:   If you wish to take a mobility scooter, wheelchair or rollator, please put the description in the Special Needs Section and we will check if we have availability. Any such equipment must fold flat for storage or be capable of being broken down into pieces of no more than 20kg. We cannot accept larger scooters (class 3) as these are too large and heavy to lift. We sometimes operate minibus feeders to minimise time, these vehicles CANNOT convey motorised wheelchairs/scooters.

On one day we visit Auckland Project.
On another day we visit Barnard Castle on Market Day.
On another day we visit Durham in the morning then back to the hotel for afternoon tea.
