The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo

A tradition rooted in Scottish identity, the gathering of the clans becomes a gathering of nations, allies, friends, and kindred spirits. The call has gone out and the call will be answered in a brand-new Tattoo performing in the summer of 2026.

 

A Call to Gather invites audiences to unite at The Edinburgh Castle Arena for an unforgettable evening of spectacle, storytelling, and celebration. With the Royal Air Force as the lead service, the 2026 Tattoo will honour the power of connection, and the role culture plays in bringing us together. Expect a breathtaking blend of music, dance, and precision display as performers from across the globe come together in a cathedral of light and sound. With stirring poetry, cinematic storytelling, and world-class talent, the Tattoo continues to push the boundaries of live performance. With a unique ability, through its performers, music, and setting, to evoke the emotions and stir the senses like nothing else, the Tattoo will wow audiences once again. You will experience the exceptional mix of military precision, awe-inspiring dance and sparkling musical entertainment, intertwined with state-of-the-art projection, lighting and exciting creative elements.

 

Our tickets to the Tattoo are for Tuesday 25th August.

 

Key Event Details:

• Nearly 230,000 visitors come to the Tattoo each year, with nearly 9,000 spectators attending each performance.

• The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is performed every year on the Edinburgh Castle Esplanade.

• The Tattoo features a cast of over 900 with military and cultural groups from the United Kingdom, and around the world.

• The full line up for the Tattoo will be announced in Spring 2026, however every Tattoo will always feature Massed Pipes and Drums, military musicians, highland dancers and, of course, the iconic Lone Piper.

Please Note - Mobility Aids:    If you wish to take a mobility scooter, wheelchair or rollator, please put the description in the Special Needs Section and we will check if we have availability. Any such equipment must fold flat for storage or be capable of being broken down into pieces of no more than 20kg. We cannot accept larger scooters (class 3) as these are too large and heavy to lift. We sometimes operate minibus feeders to minimise time, these vehicles CANNOT convey motorised wheelchairs/scooters.
