Wakefield Rhubarb Food and Drink Festival

The Wakefield Rhubarb Food and Drink Festival is a popular event that celebrates the region's famous vegetable, rhubarb. In 2026, the festival will transform the city into a lively hub of activities, featuring a bustling market with over 50 chalets offering local and regional delicacies, including jams, pickles, baked goods and rhubarb flavoured treats. There will also be live chef demonstrations where attendees can enjoy cooking demonstrations feauturing celebrity chefs from popular shows like Great British Bake off and Masterchef.

The festival will feature live music, street performances and traditional Morris dancers, creating a festive atmosphere throughout, along with talks and presentations about the history and significance of rhubarb in the region. There will also be a variety of activies for families, including workshops, arts & crafts and rhubarb themed games. Visitors can relax in themed lounges offering rhubarb inspired drinks and snacks, along with immersive activities for all ages.

PLEASE NOTE: Day Excursions are non refundable. Children under 5 are not allowed to travel on the front row seats.

PLEASE NOTE : If you wish to take a mobility scooter, wheelchair or rollator with you it must be requested at the time of booking. Any such equipment must fold flat for storage or be capable of being broken down into pieces of no more than 20kg. We cannot accept larger scooters (class 3) as these are too large and heavy to lift. We sometimes operate minibus feeders to minimise time, these vehicles CANNOT convey motorised wheelchairs/scooters.
